Rangers' Steve Kampfer: Recalled from AHL

Kampfer was recalled from AHL Hartford on Tuesday.

With both Kevin Klein (back) and Dan Girardi (ankle) set to miss Tuesday's contest against Washington, Kampfer will serve as a defensive reinforcement. The Michigan product has played parts of five seasons in the NHL, recording 23 points in 134 games. Expect Kampfer to fill a limited, third-pairing role in Tuesday's tilt.
