Red Wings' Alex Biega: Placed on waivers

Biega was waived by the Red Wings on Sunday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.

Biega played in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Hurricanes -- his first appearance since February -- and notched an assist. If the 33-year-old defenseman clears waivers, he'll likely shift to the taxi squad.
