Sharks' Jack Thompson: Heads on waivers

Thompson (lower body) was placed on waivers by the Sharks on Sunday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Thompson began the season on non-roster injured reserve with a lower-body ailment. That seems to be resolved, so he'll head on waivers and likely be assigned to the AHL if he clears. The 23-year-old suited up in 31 NHL games last year, putting up 10 points from the blue line in those contests.
