Stars' Kyle McDonald: Placed on non-roster IR

McDonald (knee) was placed on non-roster injured reserve Monday.

General manager Jim Nill revealed in September that McDonald would be sidelined until at least November after undergoing ACL surgery, so the 23-year-old's IR designation isn't particularly surprising. Once he's healthy, he'll presumably head back to AHL Texas after making 43 regular-season appearances with the minor-league club last year.
