Aho's 2017-18 campaign featured team highs in goals (29) and points (65). Despite being just 20 years old, the 2015 second-round pick continued to blow past expectations. It helped that Aho fired 200 shots on goal for the second consecutive season and notched 16 points with the man advantage. This caliber of work will be necessary for Aho if he wants to lead the Hurricanes back to the postseason next year.
Aho potted a goal and two shots during Friday's 4-1 over the Capitals. Aho has quite simply been a revelation in his sophomore season with the Canes, as he's now up to 28 goals and 64 points in 74 games. The 20-year-old Finn has quickly become one of the top offensive fantasy performers and should go early in all 2018-19 fantasy drafts.
Aho set up two goals at even strength Thursday, as the Hurricanes edged the Coyotes 6-5 at home. Aho has recorded at least one point in seven straight games. It's hard to believe this kid is only 20 years old, as he's already eclipsed 100 career points -- he has 50 goals and 63 helpers, to be exact -- at hockey's highest level. The Finnish phenom will look to stay red-hot against the Senators on the road Saturday.
Aho registered a power-play goal and an assist in Tuesday's 7-3 home loss to the Oilers. The second-year winger has quietly produced 26 goals and 33 assists for the Hurricanes. We suspect that Aho isn't getting as much attention as he deserves because he doesn't play for a playoff-bound team, but consider going against the grain in that regard for DFS contests.
Aho scored a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Bruins. He also chipped in two shots, one blocked shot and a minus-1 rating. The goal was Aho's 25th of the season, a new career high, and the power-play tally was his seventh, also a new career high. The 20-year-old is already a key member of the 'Canes attack, but his best is probably yet to come.
