  • Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Stays hot in loss
    By RotoWire Staff

Aho had a helper in Sunday's 3-1 loss to Winnipeg. Aho became the sixth player in the history of the Hurricanes or Whalers franchises to start a campaign with a six-game point streak. The 21-year-old forward has 11 points (four goals, seven assists) throughout that time frame and will look to extend his streak to seven games Tuesday against Tampa Bay.

  • Aho had a huge game Saturday, scoring two goals including the winner in overtime and adding two assists in a 5-4 victory over Minnesota. Perhaps even more impressively, Aho has points in every game this season. His streak stands at five games and 10 points (four goals, six assists), with a plus-7 rating. Aho potted 49 points as a rookie and 65 as a sophomore. His third season really could be the great leap forward.

  • Aho recorded two points in Tuesday's 5-3 win versus the Canucks. The dynamic Finn now has six points for the season, including one game-winning goal. Having scored at least 24 goals the past two years, expect Aho to challenge the 30-goal mark in 2018-19. Given he is likely to receive plenty of power-play time, lighting the lamp 30 times should be well within the realm of possibility.

  • Aho scored a goal and an assist while adding two shots, two PIM and a plus-1 rating in Friday's 3-1 win over the Blue Jackets. The Canes' second line took over the contest after the first period, as Aho and Micheal Ferland each set up the other for tallies in the second and third, with Aho's being the game-winner. The 21-year-old is off to a quick start to the campaign with three points in two games, as he looks to build on last season's 65-point performance.

  • Aho scored two goals, including the winner 19 seconds into overtime, and added an assist in Friday's 5-4 preseason win over the Capitals. The 21-year-old has had a sluggish preseason while the 'Canes experimented with him at center, but part of the issue may have been the linemates Aho was working with. Reunited with Teuvo Teravainen on Friday, he looked more like the budding star who racked up 29 goals and 65 points last season. Expect the duo to remain together when the regular season begins, and for Aho to take a run at topping last year's production as a result.
