2016 Kentucky Derby: Post draw, morning lines, complete field
The 2016 Kentucky Derby field is set after Wednesday's post-position announcement with Nyquist drawing 13 post-position.
The 2016 Kentucky Derby is upon us. A time of year for Mint Julips to flow and crazy hats abound. Following the first horse to win the Triple Crown since 1978 when American Pharoah accomplished the feat last year, the new slew of horses will try to conquer the odds and pull off the feat yet again.
It would be just the second time in history that two horses won the Triple Crown in consecutive years. The only other time was in 1977 (Seattle Slew) and 1978 (Affirmed).
The horse with the best odds is Nyquist, who has won all seven races it has been a part of including the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile and Florida Derby. He will begin Saturday’s race from the 13 post.
Another favorite coming in is Exaggerator, who has run against Nyquist three times, finishing second at the San Vicente Stakes, fourth at the Breeders' Cup Juvenile and fifth at an MSW race last June. These are races saved for horses that are yet to win a race.
Here is how the rest of the field shakes out with the morning lines odds from TwinSpires.com.
