Trainer Antonio Sano will try to win the Fountain of Youth Stakes for the second time when he sends out the favored Simplification in the 2022 Fountain of Youth Stakes on Saturday at Gulfstream Park. The South Florida-based trainer won the 2017 edition of the Fountain of Youth with Gunnevera, who went on to win more than $5.5 million in his career. On Saturday, Simplification is the 5-2 morning-line favorite in the 2022 Fountain of Youth odds. The Todd Pletcher-trained Emmanuel is 3-1 in the 12-horse 2022 Fountain of Youth lineup.

One surprise: Weir is high on In Due Time, even though he's an underdog at 6-1 on the morning line. A son of budding sire Not This Time, In Due Time is making his stakes debut after winning two of his first three starts. In his last outing, he crushed a strong allowance field, winning by 5 3/4 lengths.
In that race, he earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 92, which is the best in the field. "He continues to work well out of that effort and looks ready for the step up," Weir told SportsLine. Weir is using In Due Time prominently on his tickets.
