Missouri sports betting preview

It's been a rough few weeks for Chiefs fans, particularly in Missouri. Kansas City was eliminated from the postseason, is down to third-string quarterback Chris Oladokun after Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew both suffered season-ending knee injuries, and it was just announced that the franchise was leaving for Kansas in 2031. However, the Chiefs still have a chance to play spoiler for the first-place Broncos on Christmas Day, with kickoff scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium. The latest NFL odds from DraftKings list Denver as the 12.5-point road favorite while the over/under is 36.5.

The Show Me State is in store for some more football on Saturday when Missouri battles Virginia in the Gator Bowl. The Tigers briefly worked their way into the College Football Playoff discussion in the middle of the season, but wound up going 8-4 in Eli Drinkwitz's sixth season at the helm. He was rewarded with a six-year contract extension late last month, but Mizzou lost starting quarterback Beau Pribula to the college football transfer portal. The Cavaliers went 10-3 this season and was the runner-up in the ACC, but are still 4-point underdogs to the Tigers while the over/under is 44.5.

Meanwhile, Missouri Tigers basketball took a 91-48 beating against Illinois in the annual Braggin' Rights game on Monday. Now Dennis Gates and his squad will regroup for SEC play, which begins on Jan. 3 in Columbia against defending national champion Florida. The Tigers are 10-3 on the season, but only managed one win over a power conference opponent (an 83-60 win over Minnesota on Nov. 12) during non-conference play. Missouri is tied for ninth-lowest odds (+6000) to win the SEC in the latest college basketball futures from DraftKings. Check out the brand new DraftKings Missouri promo code to get $300 in bonus bets instantly after your first $5 wager:
