Jeff Gordon may come out of retirement to replace Dale Earnhardt Jr. at Indy
The legendary NASCAR driver retired last season
Jeff Gordon might be getting a little bored with retirement.
After ending his career at the end of last year, the four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion might race again as soon as next weekend.
Hendrick Motorsports announced Friday that Gordon will take the place of Dale Earnhardt Jr. at Indianapolis Motor Speedway next Sunday if he is unable to get past concussion-like symptoms.

Earnhardt Jr. dropped out of this weekend's New Hampshire 301 after he continued to feel symptoms following crashes at Michigan and Daytona.
Gordon, now an analyst for Fox Sports, retired last year after 23 years of racing. He finished first in NASCAR's premier series in 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2001.
Of his 93 career wins, five came at Indy -- more than any other driver.
