Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones is on a bit of a road to redemption. Jones spoke with Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting in a one-on-one interview about his recent troubles and getting back into the octagon.

Among topics the two discussed, was UFC 152 where Jones squared off with Vitor Belfort after being originally scheduled to take on Dan Henderson at UFC 151. Henderson suffered an MCL injury in camp and was forced to withdraw. Jones struggled early in the fight and nearly tapped to an arm bar before forcing Belfort to tap in the fourth round of the bout. It was later reported Belfort failed a pre-fight test for elevated levels of testosterone. Jones believes UFC knew about it.

"Vitor Belfort was on steroids when I fought him," Jones said. "The UFC was very well aware before the fight. They did nothing to penalize him. They let the fight go on knowing he was on steroids, which is a hazard to my life. I don't know what I'm going to do about that yet. I haven't spoken to them yet."

Jones also said he noticed something was different as soon as the two weighed in for the fight.

"His age and where he's at in his career. I remember at the weigh ins, I looked at his abs and I'm like 'I'm several years younger than you and you look way tighter than me.' I knew I trained pretty hard for that camp."

Belfort is reportedly set to fight Anderson Silva next March at UFC 197 while Jones will reportedly fight Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight championship in April
