Report: Cristiano Ronaldo named world's most charitable athlete
The Real Madrid man tops a list that includes WWE's John Cena, LeBron James and Ronda Rousey.
Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the most charitable athlete in the world by DoSomething.org, per Look to the Stars.
The winners are selected as a result of a three-part process: votes and nominations from the public, the athlete’s influence on social media and suggestions from a committee of DoSomething.org that takes in the impact the athletes have.
The report highlights Ronaldo's impact, including donating more than $80,000 to a 10-year-old fan who needed brain surgery, giving $165,000 to fund a cancer center in Portugal that treated his mother and raising awareness on various topics, including hunger.
