No. 23 Gael Monfils took out Andrey Kuznetsov in the Round of 16 at the Australian Open on Monday in four sets (7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6) to advance to the quarterfinals.

The most impressive moment of the match for Monfils wasn't on a point he won, but with the incredible effort he made to get a ball that was hit behind him during the second set.

Monfils attempted to stop his momentum as he ran towards midcourt and pivot back to get the ball hit behind him by Kuznetsov. Monfils leapt in the air, getting totally parallel to the ground and reached out to try and hit the shot.

He somehow made contact with the ball, but wasn't able to get it back over the net. Even so, this was one of the moments of the tournament. Monfils had to call for a medical timeout after diving on the hardcourt, but was able to continue on to the win.
