How one of Donald Trump's golf courses could be the new 'Camp David'

Trump National in Bedminster, New Jersey, is set to host the 2017 U.S. Women's Open. It might be set to host a lot more than that. Donald Trump is apparently thinking about using the club as his own personal Camp David after he's sworn in as president in January.
All of this according to a report from NJ.com.
Will President-elect Donald Trump use his Bedminster golf club as his administration's version of Camp David? Or as Kellyanne Conway, one of his top advisers, called it on Twitter, #CampDavidNJ?
Trump National Golf Course offers the president-elect 434-acres of bucolic Somerset Hills scenery, proximity to New York City, high-end suites for overnight stays, a helipad, and privacy. What it doesn't offer right now is much in the way of presidential-level security, experts say.
At Trump National, Mar-a-Lago, or any other Trump property where he chooses to stay during his administration, employees will most likely have to go through a screening process and be vetted by the Secret Service if they are going to be near the president, said Jason Porter, a vice president at Pinkerton, the security firm. Even a maid changing the presidential bed linens might have to be escorted by a security officer, he said.
So that could be very interesting. Especially because Bedminster is not a private location even though it is a (very) private club. Membership is reportedly $300,000. Trump bought it in the early 2000s after John DeLorean (of DeLorean automobile fame) sold it to a developer. The developer only owned it for two years before Trump swooped in. And now he has a women's major championship.
Trump has even talked of being buried on site. He operated some of his campaign from the club so the move here post-presidency would not be foreign, but it would be unprecedented. Who knows, though. Maybe Bedminster will work as an off-site "White House." Regardless, this is yet another example of how intertwined the next president of the United States is with the sport of golf and how complicated the next few years could be.
