We might be about to see a sitting president attend a major championship at his own golf course this week at the U.S. Women's Open. I can honestly say that's not a sentence I never thought I would type, but there are reports that Donald Trump plans to be in attendance at Trump Bedminster, which he owns, for the third of five women's majors this calendar year.

The Palm Beach Post reports that Trump could actually be at the tournament for three days, according to government flight plans. The Post reports extensively on Trump, his schedule and his golf holdings and appearances due to its proximity to Mar-a-Lago and his two South Florida golf courses.

The president will head to Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster on Friday and return to Washington, D.C., on Sunday, according to a new notice to pilots posted Monday morning by the Federal Aviation Administration.

"We were notified of the TFR (temporary flight restrictions) this morning but unfortunately we have no knowledge of the president's schedule," Janeen Driscoll, public relations director for the USGA, told the Post.

This is not totally unexpected as Trump used to show up at his course at Doral for the WGC event there all the time. He even fished Rory McIlroy's club out of the pond one year and returned it to him.

Of course, Trump was not President of the United States at the time, and he wasn't appearing at an event that many people did not want him to attend. As such, the event this weekend could be a bit of a circus depending what happens, how long Trump stays and how many protesters there are to stand against him.

Trump's son Eric said earlier this year that the U.S. Women's Open at Bedminster will be "the best tournament [the USGA] has ever had. The best."

We'll see.
