According to Jason Sobel of Golf Channel the USGA has invited Torrey Pines to host the 2021 US Open. He is reporting that Torrey will vote on this at a city council meeting in a week and that this procedure is pretty standard.
Torrey is, of course, the scene of Tiger Woods' last major crime back in 2008 on one leg. Woods will be 45 when the 2021 US Open rolls around again and if he's still able to stand up (back, achilles, knee, everything) it would make for a great story if this was the site of his last major, as well.
Here's a look at the venues for the next six US Opens.
2014 -- Pinehurst No. 2
2015 -- Chambers Bay
2016 -- Oakmont
2017 -- Erin Hills
2018 -- Shinnecock Hills
2019 -- Pebble Beach
2020 -- Winged Foot
