Rookie Bryson DeChambeau said something very strange after his U.S. Amateur semifinal win last summer. Back when he was still in college, he was asked what he likes to do for fun when he's not playing golf.

"I like to write cursive backwards and left-handed," said DeChambeau. "Something that is weird, obviously, but that's me, I'm unique. I do those sort of things to keep my mind off of golf and to help my fine motor skills with my hands. Create more sensitivity and increase my brainpower."

OK.

"I know how to write my name backwards and left-handed in cursive, and I can sign it pretty well," said DeChambeau. "That's something that I may do in the future, kind of unique -- definitely unique, obviously, but I think it sets me apart."

DeChambeau was looking into the future a little bit because when he signed his new monster deal with Cobra/Puma, the rookie signed the contract ... backwards.

“I can honestly say he’s the first player to ever sign a deal left-handed and backwards,” Cobra/Puma CEO Bob Philion told Golf Channel.

What a world.
