As Tiger Woods prepares to make his 2015 debut at the Phoenix Open next week, we can expect to see a quicker ball flight from the Big Cat.

It won't be perceptible, but a change in golf balls recently -- hey, something positive about balls in sports! -- is the catalyst behind what is a quicker ball flight from Woods.

When asked if Woods was slowing down one of Nike's big product developers, Rock Ishii, answered to Golfweek.

"No, asserts Rock Ishii, product development director for Nike golf balls. Ishii says Woods, who recently switched to Nike’s RZN Black ball, has picked up 2 to 3 mph in ball speed with the switch."

The RZN Black is the same ball Rory McIlroy has been playing with. Seems to be working out pretty nicely for him.
