Tiger Woods has now played golf with four U.S> Presidents after his outing with president-elect Donald Trump last month. Woods, sporting his Mac Daddy goatee, wrote on his website recently that he was taken aback by Trump's length off the tee.

"I recently played with President-elect Donald Trump," Woods wrote. "What most impressed me was how far he hits the ball at 70 years old. He takes a pretty good lash. Our discussion topics were wide-ranging; it was fun. We both enjoyed the bantering, bickering and needling. I also shared my vision for golf and what I'm trying to do.

"We didn't have a match and played for fun. I was testing drivers and fairway woods, and changed some settings. I think he enjoyed seeing the difference in shots when you experiment. I've now had the privilege of playing golf with Mr. Trump, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, and I appreciate the opportunity."

No word on what Trump thought of the Mac Daddy routine. Speaking of Trump, though, Woods also noted that he was gifted some "Make Tiger Great Again" shirts at the Ryder Cup by some of the golfers on the U.S. team.

"They got me good in the team room Friday night," wrote Woods who was a vice captain on the team. "It was hot, and they all wore these red, white and blue onesies with 'USA' on the front, a gift from Rickie Fowler. Zach Johnson stood up and thanked me for my contributions to the game. He had given every player a red T-shirt, which they wore under the onesies. They all stood, unzipped the front, and the T-shirt read, 'MAKE TIGER GREAT AGAIN.'"

Yes!

Tiger also opined on his future. He recently announced an early four-tournament schedule for January and February that will include stints on both the European Tour and PGA Tour. His performance at the Hero World Challenge in December where he made 24 birdies encouraged him that the future is bright.

"I thought what I did at the Hero World Challenge was a positive step. I just need to keep building off that and eliminate the simple mistakes I made. My good stuff was really good, which is a great sign. Shooting 65 in the second round felt great, but more than anything, keeping my card clean meant the most. The fact that I didn't drop a shot that day showed I had come a long way.

"I know many people doubted whether I would play competitive golf again, and to be honest, even I wasn't sure. A year ago at Hero, I was asked the question and gave a completely different answer. But after a year of working harder than I've ever worked to get back, I knew it was possible.

"My love for the game never left. It's just that the body would not allow me to play. Now my body is allowing me to do it again. Combine that with the amount of support I have received from so many people, and the help I've had from players and friends, and there is great reason for optimism."

There is great reason for optimism, and that's all we ever wanted, right? We just wanted to believe that, yes, maybe Woods could do this again. That maybe he could rock at a major and play in the final pairing. That maybe he could win at Torrey Pines for an eighth time. That maybe, just maybe, Tiger Woods could be the one to make Tiger Woods great again.
