Andy Dirks could resume rehab 'within a week or so'

Tigers outfielder Andy Dirks (back) is expected to resume his rehab assignment, "within a week or so, " head athletic trainer Kevin Rand told the Detroit Free Press on Friday.

"He's a lot better. He's moving in the right direction. He said with the soreness he doesn't have the first-step quickness," Rand said. "Within a week or so, we'll see him ready to go back out (and play)."
