The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed Russ Canzler off waivers from the Cleveland Indians, the club announced Friday.

Canzler, 26, played in 26 games for Cleveland last season with a .269/.299/.398 batting line (96 OPS+). The righty played 11 games in the outfield, eight at first base and six as a designated hitter, but the Jays' official announcement denoted Canzler's position as "3B/OF." Canzler has 126 games of experience at third base in the minors.

The Jays also outrighted pitcher Mickey Storey to Triple-A. Toronto claimed Storey off waivers on Dec. 19, the third time that Storey had been claimed this offseason.
