Rangers pitcher Colby Lewis picked up a win Monday despite giving up five earned runs on 10 hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings while striking out two in his team's 14-8 victory over the A's.
Lewis (5-4) gave up two earned runs in the first inning but settled down afterward, managing to hold the A's scoreless until the fifth, when he surrendered a solo home run. The A's were able to push four more across the plate in the sixth, with two getting charged to Lewis.
Lewis has now given up five earned runs in four of his last six starts, and he continues to struggle with control issues, walking multiple batters for the seventh straight outing. He owns a 5.97 ERA and 51:26 K:BB ratio in 63 1/3 innings. Lewis is scheduled to square off with the Angels Sunday.
