Darwin Barney to see some action at short

Cubs infielder Darwin Barney will start at shortstop Thursday, according to MLB.com.

With Starlin Castro currently sidelined, Barney will slide over. Barney is regarded as an excellent fielder at second, and has occasionally played short in a pinch the past couple years. He hit .208/.266/.303 in 501 at-bats last season.
