The Giants have placed outfielder Justin Christian on the disabled list and recalled outfielder Francisco Peguero from Triple-A Fresno, Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News reported Thursday.

Christian sprained his wrist in Wednesday's game making a diving play in the outfield. However, he hasn't hit at all this season, before or after his replacing Melky Cabrera in the Giants' lineup. Christian owns just a .125/.192/.146 line in 26 games (52 plate appearances) this season.

Peguero will be making his first major league appearance with the Giants. The 25-year-old has been in the Giants system for the last seven seasons, and this year he owns a .272/.297/.394 line for Triple-A Fresno.
