Indians-Cubs World Series: The left field porch at Wrigley is your view of the day
Let's go watch the game from under the video board
CHICAGO -- We're a few hours from Game 5 of the World Series between the Indians and the Cubs and you know what that means. It's time, once again, for the national sensation that is the World Series View of the Day. This is the 23rd installment. For this one, let's go check out one of the newest areas at Wrigley Field, the Left Field Porch.
We need to enter through the bleachers entrance, which is behind the old scoreboard in center field. Once we get up to the bleacher concourse area, we'll see a stairway and sign guiding us.

At the top, I had to immediately see if there was any chance at a view of the left field video board. There's not.

Obviously the right field one is perfectly fine to see, though. Here's our look at home plate and take note that there's a ledge there for food and drinks.

A bit back behind, there are some lounging chairs along with a bar and concession stand. Here are some of the chairs.

There's also a view out back of the street and some of the nearby rooftops.

Looking the other way, fans up here could see where the home runs that leave Wrigley Field land. Some do, though the number is much lower these days than before the bleacher expansion and video board addition.
Via the Cubs' official site, here are some of the details about the Left Field Porch:
- Occupancy: Availability in blocks of 50 or 100
- Seating arrangement: Lounge-style seating and one (1) row of reserved Budweiser Bleacher seating
- Food and beverage: Unlimited beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks (optional snack upgrade available)
- Features: Panoramic views of Wrigley Field and the Chicago Skyline, drink rail, private bar, and exclusive space for mingling/networking
It doesn't list prices, but cursory research found that they were up to $115 per person in 2015 when the Porch first opened. Surely we could triple or quadruple that for the World Series, right?
I'll see you either next season or for Game 6 in Cleveland.
