Phillies starting pitcher Jonathan Pettibone was unable to make an early lead stand up Saturday as he was forced to settle for a no-decision in an extra-inning loss.
Pettibone had a 2-0 lead, but he gave up three runs in the fifth and sixth innings, leaving the game in line for the loss. The Phillies were able to send the game into extra innings but lost 5-3 in 11.
Pettibone allowed three earned runs on six hits and four walks in six innings. He struck out six while throwing 60 of 91 pitches for strikes. Pettibone is 5-3 with a 3.89 ERA through 16 starts. His next start has not been announced.
