Phillies starting pitcher Jonathan Pettibone won a second straight start Sunday against the Braves. Pettibone allowed one run on five hits and one walk in 5 1/3 innings, while striking out six during a 7-3 win.
Pettibone's only run allowed came on Kris Medlen's RBI single in the fifth inning. Pettibone had gone eight starts without a win (0-3) before opening July with two straight victories. He's allowed two runs in 11 innings in that span.
Pettibone (5-3) will look for three straight wins when he returns to action Friday against the White Sox. Pettibone is 1-1 with a 4.63 ERA and 1.37 WHIP in two interleague starts.
