The Phillies have placed starting pitcher Jonathan Pettibone on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right shoulder, MLB.com reports.
Pettibone has been dealing with minor arm issues of late and the Phillies are using this opportunity to give him some rest. Expect him to return shortly after he is eligible. He owns a 4.04 ERA with 66 strikeouts in 100 1/3 innings on the season.
