This week in baseball has been all about statues. The Atlanta Braves revealed one of Bobby Cox, the Los Angeles Dodgers will uncover their tribute to Jackie Robinson on Saturday, and the Miami Marlins might soon do the same for Jose Fernandez.

On Thursday, the Seattle Mariners took the tarp off a Ken Griffey Jr. statue that will welcome folks to Safeco Field from now until the proverbial cows come home:

Griffey Jr., of course, was a pivotal figure in Mariners history. In parts of 13 seasons with Seattle, he hit .292/.374/.553 with 417 home runs and all-world defense in center field. He finished his career with the Mariners, retiring during the 2010 season. Griffey Jr. was enshrined into Cooperstown last summer.
