The Marlins returned Rule 5 draft pick pitcher Braulio Lara to the Rays on Sunday. Lara had to make the roster for Miami or the Marlins risked losing him back to Tampa Bay.

The 24-year-old Lara had allowed two earned runs this spring for Miami over four innings with two Ks. He's never played in the majors and was 6-10 with a 5.71 ERA over 25 appearances and 21 starts with Class-A Charlotte in the Rays' organization last year.
