Baltimore rotation candidate Brian Matusz may have just put manager Buck Showalter on notice on Wednesday night in a Grapefruit League start against the Twins. A starter-turned-lefty-specialist last season, Matusz was hoping to compete for the rotation again this spring. He's come on strong after a slow start and definitely impressed against the Twins. Matusz went four innings and did not allow a hit or run with just one walk and seven strikeouts. He lowered his spring ERA to 2.70 in the process. Matusz has allowed just three runs and six hits over 10 spring innings with 11 Ks.
