Judging by his position in the CBSSports.com draft averages, nobody is really counting on the White Sox's John Danks for much this season.

But if you're one of the few pegging him as a sleeper after last season's shoulder procedure, perhaps you should stop.

Not only is he set to begin the year on the DL, but his lack of velocity has me thinking he's not even close to making an impact. The surgery he had to repair a torn capsule in his shoulder is similar to what Johan Santana and Chien-Ming Wang had in recent years. They both needed more than a year to come back from it, and you could argue (though to a lesser extent for Santana) they weren't the same after it.

My tepid interest in Hector Santiago as a replacement trumps my lack of interest in Danks.
