The Rays and Padres announced a seven-player trade Wednesday. The Padres acquired pitcher Alex Torres and pitcher Jesse Hahn from the Rays in exchange for infielder Logan Forsythe, pitcher Brad Boxberger, pitcher Matt Andriese, pitcher Matt Lollis and infielder Maxx Tissenbaum.
Torres was one of the Rays' best relievers in 2013, going 4-2 with a 1.71 ERA and 0.90 WHIP in 39 appearances. He struck out 62 batters in 58 innings.
Hahn, a 2010 sixth-round pick, was 4-3 with a 2.38 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 34 starts in the minor leagues. He is striking out 9.1 batters per nine innings in his career.
