PED test comes back clean for Nationals' Gonzalez
Nationals left-hander Gio Gonzalez recently took a performance-enhancing drug test that came back clean.

Nationals left-hander Gio Gonzalez was one of many players named in a recent report linking him to the South Florida clinic Biogenesis and performance-enhancing drugs. MLB drug-tested the southpaw two days after the report surfaced, and the results are in:

Gonzalez, 27, has strongly denied using any banned substances or meeting Anthony Bosch, the chief at Biogenesis. A recent ESPN report indicated that while Gonzalez's father had ties to the clinic, the left-hander never received any performance-enhancers.
Gonzalez finished third in the NL Cy Young Award voting last season after going 21-8 with a 137 ERA+. He will leave the Nationals to join Team USA for the World Baseball Classic in the coming weeks. MLB is still investigating Bosch, Biogenesis and the players in the report.
