Pirates SS Jordy Mercer back in starting lineup

Pirates shortstop Jordy Mercer, who missed five weeks with a knee injury, returns to the starting lineup Monday as the team opens a series with the Marlins. 

Mercer has been supplanted by the solid play of rookie Jung Ho Kang, and his time as a starter may be limited. Mercer is hitting .241 in 81 games this season for Pittsburgh.
