Rangers pitcher Scott Baker had a rough start Friday against the Mariners.
Baker allowed five runs on four hits over 4 1/3 innings. He struck out three and walked one during the outing. Home runs were a big issue for Baker. All five runs he gave up came on the long ball. The first dinger came in the second inning. After a leadoff walk, Baker gave up a two-run shot to Kendrys Morales. The remaining two home runs came in the fifth inning. Mike Zunino hit a solo blast early in the frame, and Brad Miller followed it up with a two-run shot later. Baker was pulled after the Miller home run.
With the loss, Baker dropped to 3-4. He’ll take on the Angels in his next start.
