Twins never asked Matt Guerrier to push back opt-out date

The Twins never asked pitcher Matt Guerrier to push back his opt-out date, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Guerrier was eligible to opt out of his deal Thursday, but the club decided to call him up. After signing with the team in late March, Guerrier began the year in the minors. He allowed four runs in nine innings over two levels. Guerrier said he wasn't sure whether he would have left the club had they asked him to push back his opt-out date.
