WATCH: Addison Russell hits first career home run
Cubs rookie Addison Russell hit his first career home run Friday. Here it is.
Cubs second baseman Addison Russell was ranked as a top five prospect in baseball entering the season, much like his teammate Kris Bryant. Quite surprisingly, Russell has homered before Bryant. He did so in his first at-bat Friday afternoon. Check it out:
Hey, the bleachers are almost done! They will be open for seating May 11, so Russell's first career homer fell into an empty section.
Russell's homer gave the Cubs a 1-0 lead, which was the score through the seventh inning. He is hitting .194/.219/.387 in 31 at-bats, but he has three doubles and six RBI, after having come through in the clutch a few times.
