Wrigley Field

Last week the Yankees announced a soccer game at new Yankee Stadium, and Wednesday it's the Cubs who announced a friendly at their stadium. The Cubs will host Italy's AS Roma and Poland's Zaglebie Lubin on July 22.

Wrigley Field, like Yankee Stadium, has hosted college football recently and is adding soccer. The Chicago Sting once called Wrigley home. The NASL team played at both Comisky and Wrigley in the 70s and 80s.

Like the 2010 college football game between Northwestern and Illinois, the playing field will run from the third base dugout to right field.

The soccer game will be at 2:30 p.m. CDT, after the park hosts a gathering for the Ron Santo Hall of Fame induction ceremony and other Santo tributes on the same day.

AS Roma will also play a friendlies in Boston against Liverpool at Fenway Park and in New York. The venue for the game in New York has not been announced.
