Blue Jays' Troy Tulowitzki: Comes off DL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Tulowitzki (ankle) was reinstated from the 60-day DL on Friday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Tulowitzki has been on the shelf since late July while recovering from ligament damage to his right ankle, but should be able to have a full recovery by the time spring training rolls around. During 66 games with Toronto this season, he slashed .249/.300/.378 with seven home runs and 26 RBI.

Blue Jays' Troy Tulowitzki: Has support as 2018 starter
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons told MLB Network Radio that the organization is committed to Tulowitzki as its 2018 starting shortstop.

He's sort of forced to say that, considering Tulowitzki's contract runs through 2020, with a team buyout in 2021 that would cost them $4 million. The once elite shortstop again dealt with health issues this year, though his ankle injury isn't initially expected to be an issue for spring training 2018. Either way, there's plenty of skepticism over whether the 32-year-old can be an effective piece in shallow fantasy leagues, especially since middle-infield offense has enjoyed a boom period in the last few years. Of course, he'll probably be cheaper than ever next draft season, which may justify gambling that he can again display the big production potential he owns from past years. That clearance price point also reduces the statistical burden he'll have to yield to pay off.

Blue Jays' Troy Tulowitzki: Ankle shouldn't be issue in spring training
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Blue Jays manager said Wednesday that while Tulowitzki isn't expected to return from the 60-day disabled list this season, the shortstop shouldn't be hampered by his ankle injury heading into spring training, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Tulowitzki was diagnosed with ligament damage to his right ankle shortly after hitting the DL on July 29, and it remains undetermined whether or not he'll need to undergo surgery to address the matter. Even if Tulowitzki decides to treat the injury with the rest-and-rehab method, it doesn't sound like he'll be at risk of any lingering issues during the 2018 campaign. While that news should brighten Tulowitzki's outlook a bit for next season, he's endured a litany of lower-body injuries throughout his career, so he should still be viewed as a significant health risk even if the ankle doesn't present any problems for him.

Blue Jays' Troy Tulowitzki: Transferred to 60-day DL
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Tulowitzki (ankle) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Wednesday, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.

Tulowitzki is on the mend from significant ligament damage in his ankle and remains a candidate for surgery, so this move all but confirms he won't take the field again in 2017. It brings an end to what has been a frustrating season for the 32-year-old, with a career-worst .249/.300/.378 slash line over just 66 games, shortened by multiple stints on the DL. Tulowitzki now faces a long offseason of recovery from his latest ailment, with hopes of coming back healthy for spring training 2018.

Blue Jays' Troy Tulowitzki: Potentially out for season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Tulowitzki (ankle) seems to be a long-shot to return to action this season, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.

Chisholm added that manager John Gibbons wouldn't rule the shortstop out for certain, although given recent developments and Tulo's vast injury history, the club may simply opt to take the loss in this instance and get him ready for 2018. Tulowitzki is currently in a cast, but his status should clear up once he's allowed to shed it.
