Coke Zero Sugar 400 starting lineup: Kyle Larson on pole for regular season finale at Daytona
Larson starts first as he looks to secure the regular season championship

With the final race of the NASCAR Cup Series regular season coming up, 40 drivers are set to take the green flag at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday night with varying agendas from the front row to the last. Kyle Larson will start from the front of the field, a position in which he hopes to end the night in more ways than one.
Kyle Larson was awarded the pole for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona by virtue of NASCAR's qualifying metric, which set the starting lineup based on drivers' finishes and fastest laps from last week at Michigan combined with their points position. Larson, who currently leads the Cup Series standings by 28 points over Denny Hamlin, is in a position to clinch the regular season championship and earn an additional 15 Cup Series Playoffs points.
With 15 drivers having already clinched a Cup Series Playoffs berth, Tyler Reddick currently has a 25 point advantage over Austin Dillon for the final spot on the grid, and he will start 10 positions ahead of his Richard Childress Racing teammate at the green flag on Saturday. Reddick will roll off from the 17th starting position, while Dillon will start 27th.
As only Reddick and Dillon are in a position to make the Cup Series Playoffs on points, 13 drivers in the field now have winning at Daytona as their only opportunity to make the playoffs. Matt DiBenedetto has the best starting spot of any driver who needs to win, as he will roll off from the 9th position.
