The Washington Wizards were able to win their last game without superstar Bradley Beal in the lineup, and they'll try to do so again on Sunday evening against the Philadelphia 76ers. Beal joined fellow starter Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in health and safety protocols and neither will be available as the Wizards try to fend off the 76ers from jumping them in the Eastern Conference standings. Philadelphia bounced the Wizards out of the first round of the playoffs last season, but this is the first meeting between the two in 2021-22.

Tip-off from the Capital One Arena is set for 6 p.m. ET, where Washington is 8-4 this season. After playing to a 51-51 tie at halftime, the 76ers weren't able to pull away from the Atlanta Hawks in the second half on Thursday. The game was close throughout, but Atlanta finished on top, 98-96. Joel Embiid still came away with a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds. 

Heading into Sunday's game against Washington, there was concern that Tyrese Maxey (protocols) would not be available, but he will suit up tonight for Philadelphia. Against Atlanta, he finished with 17 points, three assists and three steals. Philadelphia leads the league in blocked shots, and Embiid is the obvious team leader in the category, with 1.4 per game.
