One of the big moments for a player on the business side of their career can be getting a signature shoe from a major shoe company. A lot of players end up wearing and promoting a shoe company's line of shoes like we've seen with Adidas sponsored player Damian Lillard has done with the Crazy Light series. But few players get a shoe made for them with their name on it to sell to customers.

Washington Wizards' point guard John Wall is joining the signature shoe club. Adidas unveiled the J Wall 1 signature shoe and apparel clothing line on Monday. Wall's logo with Adidas is his initials "JW" with the J crossing over through the W to celebrate his incredibly quick crossover dribble on the court. It also pays homage to his father, who passed away when Wall was just nine years old. From Adidas:

adidas today unveiled the J Wall 1 signature basketball shoe and apparel collection – the first in a line of signature products designed for Washington Wizards NBA All-Star point guard, John Wall. The J Wall 1 features a sleek, bold design inspired by Wall’s quick on-court play and fashion forward off-court style.

“Coming off my best season in the NBA and now launching the J Wall 1 that has my own logo is an incredible feeling,” said Wall. “I feel really blessed to have my own signature line and I think my fans and basketball players are going to love playing in this shoe.  It’s also a shoe with great colors and materials that you can dress up off the court which is really important to me.”

Each piece of the collection is branded with the new John Wall logo which incorporates Wall’s initials, “JW” and is designed with the “J” crossing-over to the “W” as a nod to his quick playing style and ability to cross over defenders. The cross-over element is also representative of Wall’s off-court style and how he transitions from a fearless player on the court to a laid back, fashion forward person off the court. In addition, the “JW” within the logo pays homage to Wall’s late father, John Wall Sr., who passed away when Wall was nine years old.

Wall joins Chicago Bulls' star Derrick Rose and Houston Rockets' star Dwight Howard in the Adidas signature shoe line for basketball. The shoe will be available October 31 on Adidas.com and in Foot Locker stores. The initial shoe launch will feature two colorways but will have additional colorways in the future. The shoes will retail for $115 and his apparel line will range from $25 to $60 for items.

The Wizards' point guard played in all 82 games last season and helped lead the team to the playoffs and a second round appearance. He averaged 19.3 points, 8.8 assists, and 4.1 rebounds while making 43.3 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from 3-point range. He made 108 3-pointers in the 2013-14 season after attempting just 202 3-pointers in his first three seasons combined.
