The second-round series between the Raptors and Heat has been a physical affair. Just ask Goran Dragic, who had his lip busted open in Game 3 and then got tangled up with Cory Joseph in Game 4, and while disengaging, swung wildly at the Toronto guard.

Dragic did not make contact with Joseph and no foul was called during the game. Yet after reviewing the play Wednesday, the NBA hit Dragic with a technical foul (and the accompanying $2,000 fine).

Dragic told reporters on Wednesday that he wasn't surprised by the NBA's decision:

"If I'm honest, I'm not surprised," Dragic said before Wednesday night's Game 5 at Air Canada Centre. "It is what it is. It was a physical play. It's basketball. So I'm not worried about that. It's happened so many times in the playoffs that the league decided to give me a tech."

Dragic was clearly swinging in frustration, but if he had indeed made contact, an ejection likely would've been the result. So the NBA is just doing its due diligence by keeping things safe with this retroactive call.
