Jeremy Lin scores efficiently off bench

Rockets guard Jeremy Lin came off the bench in Wednesday's season opener against the Bobcats, but still played 31 minutes in a 96-83 win.

Patrick Beverley started at point guard over Jeremy Lin, but a rib injury forced Beverley out pretty early in the game. Lin had a strong performance, scoring 16 points on 5 of 7 shooting, with two 3-pointers and a 4 for 6 mark at the free-throw line. He added two assists but turned the ball over twice.

Depending on the severity of Beverley's injury, Lin could join the starting lineup in the team's next game.
