Motivational speakers have worked wonders for millions and apparently even for LeBron James. James has had plenty of success in his career but he still needs some help getting motivated every night which is why the Cleveland Cavaliers brought in Kendrick Perkins.

Perkins has only been with the Cavs for a few weeks but has already found a niche on the team as LeBron's motivational speaker. Before every game, you can often see Perkins hug James and whisper in his ear.

These whispers by Perkins as Chris Haynes of Northeast Ohio Media Group reports, help James get ready for the game but also remind him about something very specific.

James is the greatest.

"A lot of people are starting to compare other players to him and they're not even on the same level as him," Perkins said. "I'm just telling him to be great. I'm letting him know that it's on him to go out there and show the world once again who the man is."

"Even though he might not need it, I feel like I got to remind him of who he is," Perkins said.

"Whatever I have to do to get this team up to play, I'm going to do it," he said. "And part of it is making sure 'Bron is in the right frame of mind. I'm going to do what's ever in my power to get him going because he's the best in the game."

Perkins and James had a relationship before the NBA as the two once played on the same AAU team in high school. Since they have this long relationship, it is fair of Perkins to say that James may be the best but it does make you think, was he saying the same thing to his former teammate Kevin Durant?

Durant got better each season Perkins was with the Thunder and even won the MVP last season. Could the same happen with James because of Perkins? It is quite possible, as James has clearly stepped up his game over the last month and the Cavs are looking like a team that is hell-bent on winning the NBA Finals.

If the Cavs do win it all, it will be the second championship for Perkins but will also help him figure out what he should do when he retires. Kendrick Perkins motivational speaker, has a nice ring to it, right?
