Steph Curry 3-point Tracker: He's dipped to only 399 projected makes
Steph Curry is projected to make under 400 3's this year, and somehow that's surprising.
Here's how ridiculous Stephen Curry has been during the Golden State Warriors' historic 16-0 start to the 2015-16 season. He went 4-of-12 from downtown during the Warriors' drubbing of the Lakers Tuesday night. While the percentage isn't good there, hitting four 3-pointers in a game shouldn't drop your projected total for a season. And yet, Curry only hitting four 3-pointers in Game 16 of the season has Curry finally below 400 3's if he ends up playing all 82 games.
That's absurd. It's absurd that it's even noteworthy that Curry dropping below 400 projected 3-pointers nearly one-fifth of the way through the season. That's how good he's been. He's made 78 3's in these 16 games and is shooting 43 percent on deep balls. Another absurd factoid about Curry's shooting this season? If he sticks at 43 percent for the season, it will be the second worst 3-point accuracy he's had in his career. His worst is 42.4 percent.
Here's your Curry 3-point tracker:
Curry is currently on pace to break his own record of 3's in a season (286) on March 1 against the Atlanta Hawks. That would be the 59th game of the season for Curry and the Warriors. He's on pace to break the 300 barrier a few days later on March 7 against the Orlando Magic, which would be the 62nd game of the season.
The reigning MVP could set the 3-point record for a season and not even play the final 20 games.
