Steve Kerr on Spurs game: 'If I had any guts, I'd sit everybody'
The Warriors play the Spurs on Saturday, and you can expect a relatively full lineup for Golden State.
If you're reading this, you're aware that the Golden State Warriors visit the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday. It's only the second game of the season between these two teams, who own a combined record of 120-16 this season. The Spurs' 34-0 home record is on the line, and a Warriors loss would knock them back in their pursuit of 73 wins. Given that Golden State played in Dallas on Friday, there has been speculation that coach Steve Kerr might choose to rest players.
That is not the plan, though Kerr did joke about it.
"If I had any guts, I'd sit everybody," Kerr told reporters following the Warriors' 130-112 win over the Mavericks, via the San Francisco Chronicle's Rusty Simmons.
Golden State is not completely whole. Center Andrew Bogut will miss the game after injuring his toe in Dallas. Swingman Andre Iguodala is out, too, with a left ankle sprain. Backup center Festus Ezeli remains sidelined as he recovers from knee surgery. Still, at 8:30 p.m. ET, you'll get to see a matchup between the two top teams in the league with most of the main characters in uniform.
Unless Spurs coach Gregg Popovich decides to sit everybody, that is.
