Turns out he just didn't want to pay for a haircut

Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams is one of the most likable athletes in the NBA as far as his interview quotes go. He's plain spoken, funny and brutally honest. He doesn't get caught up in the glamour of being an NBA star, and is always amusing in his observations.

The Crowd Goes Wild in New Zealand spoke to him during the Olympics about his sister competing in the shot put, and the big man touched on a variety of subjects including that of his reproductive organs.

1. "[My] nuts? They're still there, thankfully." Adams said that despite Draymond Green's vicious and repeated assault on his groin during the Western Conference finals, that his parts remain intact. He also said it's "awesome" how much people talked about his "nuts."

2. "Honestly, it was like a budget thing. It was like 60 bucks to get haircuts and it bummed me out. It was so much money, so I just stopped getting haircuts." This is up there on the list for "most Steven Adams thing ever." He just didn't want to spend $60 a month, despite the fact that he makes over $3 million per year and that's before what will be a huge raise either in an extension or new contract next summer. As such he wound up looking like a cross between a pirate and an extra from "Dazed and Confused' and it was glorious.

3. "'Oh, you're Australian!' And then I punch them in the face." Don't do that. Don't say he is Australian. You would not like getting punched in the face by Steven Adams. That would not be good.
