Despite all of his heroics on offense, it's no secret that Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas struggles on the defensive end of the court.

Defense is a hard thing to quantify, but earlier this season our Matt Moore broke down how, even though he led the league in fourth-quarter scoring, Thomas' defense actually caused the Celtics to come out on the negative side of point differential.

At the end of the regular season, Thomas ranked second-to-last in the entire NBA in defensive real plus/minus -- a stat designed to measure a player's effect on his team defensively. Thomas finished at -3.89, just ahead of league-worst Doug McDermott at -3.92.

So needless to say it was quite a shock to see that Thomas earned a vote for the 2016-17 NBA All-Defensive team. Folks on Twitter were not impressed with the decision.

Thomas himself chimed in on teammates Avery BradleyJae Crowder and Marcus Smart not making the team, but didn't address his own vote.

The NBA will make the votes public on Tuesday, so we will know who gave Thomas the All-Defense nod. We're all waiting to see how that brave soul justifies their pick to the angry masses.
