Rockets' Ryan Anderson: Goes for 19 points off bench
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Anderson recorded 19 points (7-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), seven rebounds and one assist across 36 minutes during a 110-107 overtime loss to the Spurs on Tuesday.

After being moved to the bench for Game 5, Anderson responded with his highest point total of the series in the overtime loss. After he struggled in the opening round series against the Thunder, Anderson has been pretty good in the second round, with averages of 13.2 points on 48.9 percent shooting, 5.2 rebounds and 2.8 made three-pointers per game. We'll see if he is left out of the starting lineup again in Game 6.

Rockets' Ryan Anderson: Will come off bench in Game 5
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Anderson will come off the bench for Game 5, Mark Berman of FOX 26 in Houston reports.

As expected, due to the recent loss of Nene Hilario (thigh) for the remainder of the postseason, coach Mike D'Antoni will shake up the rotation to have more size coming off the bench. Eric Gordon will start in his place, and Trevor Ariza will shift over to starting power forward as a result. Anderson will serve as the team's backup center, meaning that D'Antoni will be forced into implementing smaller lineups for the rest of the series. Both Anderson and Gordon's minutes, however, should, for the most part, remain unaffected.

Rockets' Ryan Anderson: Expects to come off bench for Game 5
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Anderson said he expects to come off the bench for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Spurs, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The Rockets recently lost Nene Hilario for the rest of the postseason because of an adductor tear, which hurt the team's overall depth at center off the bench. For that reason, Anderson believes he'll come off the bench as the team's backup center, while also adding an additional scorer in the second unit. While nothing official has been released, Anderson's move to the bench would likely allow for Eric Gordon to move into the starting lineup, although both players likely won't see much a change in playing time despite the potential swap.

Rockets' Ryan Anderson: Pitches in with 13 points in Game 4
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Anderson posted 13 points (5-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt) and four rebounds over 32 minutes during Sunday's 125-104 win over the Spurs in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals.

The veteran forward was a liability in Game 3, generating just two points on a pair of free throws over 29 minutes. He had a slow start Sunday as well, but bounced back to post his third double-digit scoring effort of the series and only the fourth of the postseason overall. Anderson has been effective from long distance in the current series, tallying a 42.3 percent success rate on an average of 6.5 attempts from behind the arc. He'll look to keep it going on the road in Tuesday's Game 5.

Rockets' Ryan Anderson: Leads team with 18 in Game 2 loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Anderson tallied 18 points (7-9 FG, 4-5 3Pt), eight rebounds and an assist over 35 minutes in Wednesday's 121-96 loss to the Spurs.

It's rare when the top scorer for the Rockets isn't named 'Harden', but that's exactly what happened in this lopsided loss, as Anderson had a great shooting night, draining four of five 3-pointers and recording 77.7 percent from the floor overall. He also grabbed a respectable eight rebounds and led the team in that category as well. Anderson has a reputation as a streaky player who can put up big numbers when he is hot and can disappear when his shot is off. It's been more of the latter for him during the playoffs, as he was averaging only 9.9 points over seven games until tonight's performance, which was by far his best showing in the postseason. He's a decent punt play in DFS contests but is simply too risky to be used as a cash option due to his inconsistency from the floor. Anderson and the Rockets will match up again with the Spurs in Houston on Friday for Game 3.
